In memory of Pauline Butterworth

In loving memory of Pauline, a beautiful wife, mother, grandma, sister and true friend and her brave and courageous battle with breast cancer.

The last gift she wanted to leave behind was the hope that friends and family would donate in her memory to support the research of this disease, so that one day there may be a preventative or cure... allowing a woman to continue to be a beautiful wife, mother, sister, daughter and friend that we all love and cherish so much.

She was only sweet sixteen, her dreams came true,
She fell in love with you, dad,

An unbreakable bond, an eternal love,
That’s strong enough to defy boundaries of heaven above,

All these years she’s loved you more and more each day,
Through my tears I can proudly say,

What more could a child dream of,
Than being born into a family with so much love.

We knew we were loved from the day we were born,
Close to her heart, so that we’d never be torn,

She wrapped us up in cotton wool,
Protected our innocence from all harmful,

We were lucky enough to have wonderful cuddles,
And she was always there throughout our troubles,

Her hands so soft, gentle in touch,
Hands that worked so hard and gave so much,

For Jamie her grandson, you were her ray of sunshine,
Born in days which seemed so grey and ill-defined,

She held you in her arms so tight,
We saw her courage, her strength, so determined to fight,

And that she did for five beautiful years,
Until that dreadful day came that we all feared,

But if you look up out of your window at the darkest of night,
You will see her star shining so bright.

The most selfless woman I’ve ever known,
For these are the seeds that she has sewn,

She will live on in our hearts forever,
Memories of love and happiness, we will treasure.

Her lasting words, a promise to keep,
‘it is our legacy to have such a beautiful, loving family’.
