Anyone who knew May will remember her love of life, laughter , and modern technology! Anything with flashing lights!
May was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer in June 2007, survived the treatment ( although she had been warned that it may kill her; May's reaction? "Well they both begin with 'C' and I'd prefer it was the chemo that killed me!) and after recovering from it all, went on to have a really good year including two lovely holidays in the sun. She loved the sun and always said she was sure she had been born in the wrong country!
If laughter could cure cancer then May would still be here. She giggled and laughed her way through it all, receiving presents from fellow patients for keeping them cheered up.
We were fortunate enough to have May home when terminally ill. It was an honour and a privilege to look after her in the last 4 weeks of her life, as she made the most of every last minute, seeing friends and family, playing Trivial Pursuit on the DVD, and being thrilled with any cards or presents she received.
It was May's wish that a collection was taken at her funeral for Breakthrough Breast Cancer, as she had been a supporter for a long time, in memory of both her sister and her niece.
May was pleased to know that she would continuine to help others although no longer with us.
