In memory of Lynn Joyce Speed

1956 - 2008

So far we have raised

£2,325.00

We set up this fund as a way to honour Mom's life and memory in a proactive way while helping a charity that was close to her heart. Mom was a very caring and loving person who was always willing to help others. She lost her battle against cancer in January 2008.

Mom was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2000 which she fought and was given the all clear in April 2006. In September 2006, she was diagnosed with secondary cancer in the bones of her spine. She fought a hard battle and witnessed the birth of her first grandchild in June 2007. Mom was loved by all her family and friends.

Mom was the most generous, kind, loving person I have met. She was always there for me as a girl growing up and was my rock. Although she only had seven months with my daughter, they were a fantastic few months that have left very special memories for us. My mom was a fantastic person and I only hope that my daughter and I are half the woman she was. She will always be loved and missed; she will always live on in her hearts and thoughts.

Everyone loved Mom and she was always there for all her family and friends. She was a very brave lady and never stopped laughing all through her illness. She was one in a million who lit up the room as soon as she walked in and has left us all with the most magical memories. I am so proud to say that I am her daughter and will make sure my niece who didn't get to spend much time with her nanny Lynn gets to know all about her! There is a big gap left in our lives but being able to raise money in mom’s name has given us all a boost, and a chance to help to try and find a cure for this cruel disease. Mom would be so proud of this tribute fund as it is a charity to which she always supported

My dear sister Lynn, my earliest memories were of Lynn and I on the beach at Blackpool sitting in deck chairs with our mom. We always wore the same outfits that mom made for us even though Lynn is four years older than me. Lynn had a great sense of humour. She was so kind and would help anyone. She was so brave and will always be thought of and missed by us all. Love and miss you "neisy." x
