Jane Hannah's Ironman Challenge

£3,475 £1,500 target
For those that have known me a while you may remember the days when I not only turned up to social events but I used to be social, have a few drinks and maybe even be one of the last to leave! Over the years as I have got more into running this has changed and now I am pleased to confirm that I think I have reached an all-time peak in my dullness level. With the only chat I have about how many lengths of the swimming pool I have swam, how cold the lake is or how lovely my new padded shorts are I wanted to tell you about my next challenge.
Whilst recovering from Breast Cancer you may remember our very own Lucy Klimowicz from commercial committing to taking on the challenge of a half ironman last September to raise money for Breakthrough BreastCancer. Inspired by this and wanting to offer some support I decided I would like to join Lucy and also take on this challenge. Swimming like an octopus I knew it was indeed going to be a challenge, but I don’t like things to stop me!
I am eternally grateful to Lucy for her inspiration, courage and for being so bonkers to have done the challenge last year that I would like to ask you all to dig deep to keep raising money for Breakthrough BreastCancer. Without Lucy’s inspiration I would never have given Triathlon a go and would never have found what is now a complete addiction.
So what am I doing? Well in just over one week’s time on May 23rd I will be taking on my biggest challenge to date ‘The Lanzarote Ironman’ (2.5 mile sea swim, 112 mile bike ride and a 26 mile run all back to back and to be completed in 17 hour). It has been a long 5 months of training through the winter but I am now in excited mode for the event and what is likely to be a messy reintroduction to society afterwards!!
So please give generously
For those who have not yet reached for their credit card here is a quote about the Lanzarote Ironman:
Considered to be one of the toughest Ironman events in the world, the course covers 7500 ft elevation, suffers winds of up to 30mph and is in soaring temperatures in the 30’s,
